1983 Vagabond 52 STAYSAIL SCHOONER

Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Live aboard in comfort and traditional style. Voyage with exceptional range, stability and ease of motion. Or cruise the coast with plenty of room for guests and entertaining. Jack Tar’s previous owner sailed her across to Europe and the Med, then across to cruise the Carib. We bought her after losing our Formosa 51 ketch to Hurricane Irma to continue our 32-yr liveaboard life in a vessel with important DNA matching our previous boat. She’s 30+ tons, steady and sea-kindly when others bob and lurch like corks in a tub. She’s a schooner – one of the highest rated sailing designs in seagoing history. She’s traditional in design and appearance, but with a split-level deck and a modified center cockpit placement. We are forced to put Jack Tar up for sale out of family and health considerations that we must address and as soon as possible. Take a look. Lots of boat. Short money.

Being sold as is.   Launched on  October 6th with New bottom paint and currently on a mooring in Portsmouth RI.
