The 50 Super Sport possesses increased deadrise forward to produce a deeper entry and softer ride. Down-angled lifting strakes straighten the waterflow over the rudders and propellers for excellent tracking ability and efficiency. Water feeds into the suction area of the planing hull’s bottom, enabling her to break clean at low RPM’s and save fuel at all RPM’s. The strakes also stabilize the boat in slop and chop, to keep her dry forward.
The 50 Super Sport’s large bridge is intelligently laid out under a custom-designed hardtop with three-sided enclosure – both standard. Standard, too, are a fully instrumented angled helm station, with visibility to all points of the compass. Bridge guests enjoy the comfort of pleated vinyl-cushioned lounge seating forward of the console. The lounge has an under-seat rod storage compartment. A VIP guest can admire this battlewagon’s nimble handling from the companion seat next to the adjustable helmsman’s chair.
The 50 Super Sport’s spacious self-bailing cockpit provides tournament contenders with equipment essential to the successful pursuit of big-game fish. The transom-mounted circulating live baitwell combines with a tackle locker and the bait prep center’s freezer and fresh-water sink to enhance the sportfishing experience. Game fish are boated readily through a hinged gate in the transom door and gaffed into large insulated fishboxes. A dunnage box neatly stows deck gear.
Inside on the main deck, a well-proportioned salon is accented by teak bulkheads and handcrafted cabinetry. Maple is an option. Sumptuous fabrics, carpeting, wall coverings, upholstered panel and valance treatments have been chosen by Ocean’s exclusive interior stylist, William Bales and Company.
Cabinet and drawer hardware is push-button European. The blinds are wood. An upholstered chair complements the large L-lounge, concealing a rod-storage compartment.
Standard aboard the 50 Super Sport is a sophisticated entertainment center including a 30-in. flat-screen color television and DVD player, both with remotes, as well as a Bose Lifestyle 17 AM/FM stereo with CD player. The icemaker and glossy teak hi-lo table contribute to the convivial atmosphere of this superlative yacht.
A high-gloss dinette table lies just forward of the entertainment center’s console, which divides the space unobtrusively. The large portside galley is two steps from the dinette. The main deck is fluid and open, allowing ease of movement. The 50 Super Sport’s layout encourages onboard entertainment and livability.
The modern galley is equipped with all that is required to feed a hungry crew or prepare a snack. A convection/microwave oven, recessed three-burner range, an under counter drawer-style refrigerator and freezer, and an instant hot-water dispenser are standard fare here. Working services and galley storage (including an underfloor compartment) are ample. Labor-saving conveniences include a trash compactor and central vacuuming system. Sinktops and countertops are carefree Corian®, the floor covered in easy-to-clean Amtico® vinyl tile.
Located amidship and to port, under the galley sole, the luxurious master stateroom has a raised teak panel entrance door; a walkaround double berth with 5-in. mattress and two pillows; decorative and full-length mirrors; a vanity with high-gloss top; two cedar-lined hanging lockers; overhead cabinets and clothes drawers. A 22-in. flat-panel color television with DVD and remote, in addition to an AM/FM stereo with CD player, is standard. The 50 Super Sport’s is a true master stateroom, with the room, amenities, and private head entrance typical of larger models.
Located in the forwardmost part of the lower deck, the large guest stateroom is available in two standard layouts. An “A” plan, with a large walkaround island berth, satisfies owners wanting a well-appointed stateroom for an additional couple.
The third stateroom (starboard) is located across the companionway from the master. Two side-by-side twin berths provide a comfortable retirement for travelers. Cedar-lined hanging lockers contribute to their well-being during extended on-water stays. A teak raised panel entrance door carries the interior accent that is general throughout the yacht. The inboard berth is neatly tucked under the dinette and the stairway – further evidence of Ocean’s ingenious use of space.
The master and guest heads are private behind teak doors. The guest head also serves as a day head. All feature enclosed showers, mirrored medicine cabinets, linen storage, Corian® sinktops and countertops, Vacu Flush® toilets, exhaust blowers, and stylish fixtures.
A standard washer-and-dryer unit is located in the companionway.
