Vessel Walkthrough

HULL CONSTRUCTION

The hull is comprised of cold molded wood topsides and cold molded marine plywood bottom over permanent marine plywood bulkheads/frames.

DECK CONSTRUCTION

The deck is comprised of awlgrip and 10 oz fiberglass cloth set in epoxy over two layers of 7mm (9/32”) okoume marine plywood.  The plywood skins are to be mechanically fastened and epoxy bonded to laminated wood deck frame with west system resins. The underside of the plywood deck is to be finished with awl grip snow white. 

A combination toe-rail, covering board, and rub rail is fitted to the perimeter of the deck. A single flush, watertight deck hatch is fitted in the foredeck.

Boot top: (2021) Awlgrip, matterhorn white

Cove stripe: awl grip, cordovan gold

Antifouling:  Red bottom paint 

 

TOERAIL

The joinery applied to the deck perimeter is not a “toerail” in the traditional sense. A single varnished teak member serves as a covering board, toerail, and rub rail. Six custom stainless-steel closed chock castings are let into the toe rail (3 each side). 

 

STEERING SYSTEM

Volvo power assisted steering with hydraulic helm.

The engine is located directly beneath the center console.  The console pivots forward on robust stainless-steel hinges to provide engine and mechanical systems access.

FUEL SYSTEM

1 rmi custom fabricated monel fuel tank installed below the sole and immediately forward of the engine.

Fuel tank capacity: 50 us gal approx.

Fuel tank plate thickness: 1/8” monel

Fuel tank baffle: 30” centers (polyethylene)

Fuel filter racor 500 ma-2 turbine series 10-micron filter with shut off valves for service each side of filter. 

Fuel gauge 2” volvo brand (vdo manufacturer) fuel gauge configured with magnetic tube style sending unit. 

 

WASHDOWN PUMP

12vdc, 4.0gpm self-priming washdown pump 

 

BILGE PUMPING

A pair of ultra switch actuated submersible pumps plumbed to strum box pickups in 2 separate bilge compartments

Macerator flush pump- 24vdc integral to toilet

Diverter valve- lockable diverter valve 1-1/2” discharge

 

FRESH WATER SYSTEM

The domestic water system consists of a single 30 gallon stainless steel tank fitted aft of the engine and below the sole, beneath the drive train jack shaft.  A single 12vdc pump delivers cold water under pressure to a wash down hose and spray nozzle stored in the aft seating compartment. This is the same pump that is used for saltwater wash down.  

 

TOILET AND BLACK WATER SYSTEM

The black water system is comprised of a single 12vdc electric saltwater flush toilet discharging waste to either a holding tank or directly overboard via a y valve.

Tank- 5-gal polyethylene 

12vdc discharge pump- integral to toilet 

Rinse pump- 12vdc delivered with lite flush system

 

MECHANICAL SYSTEMS MONITORING AND ALARM

Liquid level monitoring of the contents of all tanks and bilge compartments is done through an integrated system from bep marine. The system is comprised of bep ultrasonic sending units fitted to the tops of one fuel tank and one water tank. The sending units communicate with a bep dc systems monitor (dcsm) 

 

ELECTRICAL - GENERAL

The design and installation of all ac and dc electrical service is executed in compliance with abyc and industry best practices. The electrical installation is comprised of engine start and house battery bank (1 each) battery switch, 12vdc breaker panel. Shore power connection and battery charger are included.

SOLE

The sole surface is 2”x ¼” solid teak payed with teak deck systems black sis440 teak caulk seams over ½” sound insulating plywood. A margin plank follows the perimeter of the sole. 

 

FOREPEAK

The forepeak is principally a utilitarian storage space. Access is provided via an opening immediately forward of the settee back rest. A sole is to be fitted within the compartment to keep items stored within from collecting in an inaccessible low point against the hull. 

 

CONSOLE

The console is a single piece molded fiberglass assembly, hinged at the front and raised by means of twin powered bennett marine 24” stroke hydraulic cylinders. The entire console is well insulated and gasketed to keep noise entering the accommodation space to an absolute minimum.  The helm is protected by a custom t-top with canvas cover

 

ANCHOR AND GROUND TACKLE

The anchor handling system is comprised of a single 20 lb galvanized steel cqr anchor. The anchor is stored beneath the forward settee and deployed by hand.

WASH DOWN

There is a fresh water, wash down system powered off a 4vdc pump.  

Pump- 12vdc, 4.0 gpm self-priming 

 

BULWARK/TOERAIL

The perimeter of the deck is fitted with a solid teak elliptical section toerail finished in awl brite clear gloss. 

 

HATCHES

Three flush hatches are fitted. 1 in the foredeck, 2 in the cockpit sole.
